Walk for Suicide Awareness

2026

Thank you to everyone who joined us on September 13 for the Walk for Suicide Awareness. Your support, participation and generosity helped make the day incredibly meaningful, and we are so grateful to everyone who walked, fundraised, donated and volunteered.

While the Walk may be over, our campaign continues until September 30! There is still time to make a donation and support DCGT’s free programs and services.

Thank you for walking alongside us for hope, healing and suicide awareness. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Thank you for standing with us and helping make hope possible in our community. Your support allows DCGT to continue delivering life-saving mental health and crisis support to people who need someone to listen.

No One Should Face Their Darkest Moments Alone

Across Canada, mental health needs are growing, yet millions of people still aren’t able to access the support they need. Long wait times, financial barriers, and limited access to care leave many facing overwhelming moments without somewhere to turn.

Here in the Greater Toronto Area, loneliness and social isolation have reached alarming levels. More than one million adults are unsure they have someone they can rely on in a crisis, while suicide claims the lives of approximately 12 Canadians every day.

The need is growing:

You Can Be There for Someone in Crisis

Every call, text, and conversation is made possible by people who believe no one should have to face a crisis alone. Your support helps Distress Centres of Greater Toronto provide free, confidential emotional support, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Your generosity helps people:

Together, we can ensure that when someone reaches out, someone is there to answer.

The Walk may be over, but the impact continues. Donate through September 30 to support DCGT’s free programs and services.
