Each day, approximately 11 people in Canada die by suicide. That’s over 4,000 people a year, making suicide a leading cause of death in Canada. Additionally, up to 40,000 survivors are left behind grappling with the loss and as a group are at higher risk to attempt Suicide.
At DCGT, we believe that with the right supports in place, we can eliminate mental health stigma and prevent suicides. In our inaugural year we had over 200 people participate in the Walk to End Suicide and raised $150,000!
By participating in the Walk to End Suicide, you are helping us raise awareness of suicide, reduce stigma and support our life-saving services while helping raise critically needed funds. This year, the Walk to End Suicide will take place on Friday September 8 th , 2023 from 5pm to 7pm in High Park Toronto. Follow our Social Media Pages and/or sign-up for our newsletter here to get the most up to date information about the Walk to End Suicide.
